Energy, power and charging
The HUSON™ is designed to be electric from the ground up to have a full workday capacity of up to 10 normal working hours
Batteries in the lower main-frame and in the rotating sub-frame utilize all available space and are packaged for a low center of gravity plus function as a counterweight
The powertrain systems and software are designed to be highly efficient and recover energy where possible
Combined peak power is twice as high as diesel engines of equally sized compact machines
Charging is similar to an EV, with 230V 2 or 3-phase and public Type 2 charging (Europe)
Overnight charging is possible with a 230V, 1-phase wall socket (Europe)
At locations where you have a standard 230 V home/garage socket, charging works fine. Plug it at the end of the afternoon and the batteries will be charged by next morning
Speed, traction force and turning radius
Maximum speed is equal to compact wheel loaders, skid steers and compact tractors. It’s almost four times as fast as similar sized compact excavators with tracks
Traction force is equal to compact wheel loaders and skid steers of the same weight category
The instant torque electric drive system can be precisely controlled from zero to max speed
4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steer with square footprint for stability
Both axle differentials are 100% lockable for true off-road capability
The inside turning radius is equal to compact articulated wheel loaders, but with wider square tire footprint stability
The large wide tires with construction or landscaping profile give equal ground pressure as articulated wheel loaders
Wide grass tires with low air pressure get you to ground pressure levels of fairway mowers
You can unlock or lock the oscillating axle depending on the terrain and situation
Sound and vibration levels
The battery electric drive has a sound intensity which is half of compact machines with a diesel engine
There is no vibrating internal combustion engine
Electric motors and hydraulic valves are suspended in rubber dampers to reduce even the smallest vibrations
You stay energized throughout the day and can communicate easily with your colleagues
A full working day, without disturbing your customers and the environment
Dimensions, weight, and stability
The robot arm folds inside, creating a machine length which is equivalent to a skid steer and quite a bit shorter than articulated wheel loaders of the same weight class
The HUSON™ is about one meter/yard shorter than compact excavators and almost two meters/yards shorter than a tractor loader backhoe of similar weight category
A low center of gravity is reached by packaging batteries and power train components low in the main-frame
Components with a large mass in the rotating sub-frame are positioned as far in the rear as possible for a very good 360˚ lifting balance
The approach angle is 90˚, it doesn’t get any better
Breakover angles are about 10˚ more than a Mercedes G, a Jeep Wrangler or a Ford Bronco
The departure angle is approximately 10˚ better than skid steers and compact articulated loaders
Electronic hydraulic system
All hydraulic functions are precision digitally controlled
High auxiliary oil flow capacity, divided over two proportional circuits on the boom and a proportional tractor circuit
Energy efficiency is designed in the powertrain
Touchscreen work mode selection with corresponding hydraulic settings
Joystick patterns change to ISO standards per work mode
360˚ Loader capacities
Rotate 360˚with a full bucket, save time and energy
Use semi-automated movements to increase cycle times
Lower loader forces are absorbed by the main-frame
360˚ Articulated boom capacities
Articulated 3-segment boom provides a close reach and flexibility
360˚ digging and craning reach is equivalent to compact excavators of similar dimensions
Lifting capacities are the same with good stability, provided by the low center of gravity
The slew torque is better than compact excavators of similar dimensions
Offset left and right for tight spaces and visibility
Tractor hitch option
Category 1 and 2 tractor hitch widths
Couple skid steer or loader tools to the hitch
Control the tractor hitch and 360˚cab/boom independently
Rotate the cab where your angle is best to connect and drive
Transport
In Europe, you can transport the HUSON™ with a 3.500 kg trailer and a BE driving license
In North America, just transport it without a CDL (Commercial Driver License)
You only need to transport one machine, not two, three or four
